Updated over a month ago

When booking a consultation on Oladoctor, you’ll be asked to describe the reason for your visit. This helps the doctor prepare for the consultation and understand your needs in advance.

Why this is important

When booking a consultation, you’ll be asked to describe the reason for your visit. This helps the doctor prepare in advance and understand your needs before the appointment.

Where to enter your reason for booking

You’ll see a text field labeled “Reason for your consultation” during the booking process.

  • For Express Consultation: the field appears in Step 1

  • For Specialist Consultation: the field appears in Step 5

Use this field to describe your request clearly and briefly.

What to include in your description

When writing your reason for booking, it’s helpful to include:

  • Symptoms you’re experiencing

    • Example: headache, fever, sore throat, skin rash

  • A request to renew a prescription

    • Example: I need to renew a prescription I received in Spain last month

  • A request for a medical certificate or document

    • Example: I need a certificate for IMT (Portugal) to exchange my driving license

  • A follow-up on a previous consultation

    • Example: This is a follow-up to my consultation from last week regarding blood pressure

  • Any other health questions or concerns

    • Example: I’ve had ongoing fatigue and want to discuss possible causes

Please write your reason in one of the doctor’s consultation languages — you’ll see the supported languages listed during booking.
