What is an Express Consultation?

An Express Consultation is a short online appointment with a general practitioner. It’s designed for common health concerns that don’t require a specialist. This format is ideal when you need quick support, especially for everyday symptoms or follow-up questions.

When is it relevant?

Choose an Express Consultation for issues such as:

  • Cold or flu symptoms

  • Skin rashes or irritation

  • Headache or mild pain

  • Urinary discomfort (possible UTI)

  • Allergy symptoms

  • Prescription renewal

  • Questions about ongoing treatment

If the situation turns out to be more complex, the doctor may recommend follow-up care or refer you to a specialist.

How much does an Express Consultation cost?

An Express Consultation costs €39. This is a fixed price that covers the full cost of the 15-minute appointment. There are no additional fees or hidden charges.

How long does the Express Consultation last?

The consultation lasts 15 minutes. If the doctor believes more time is necessary, they may extend the session at their discretion.

Who provides Express Consultations?

Express Consultations are conducted by certified general practitioners. You don’t need to choose a doctor manually — the system assigns the next available doctor based on your language and request. These are experienced physicians who assess your symptoms, offer medical advice, and recommend appropriate next steps if needed.

How to book an Express Consultation

Step 1: Log in and choose Express Consultation

If you haven’t completed your profile yet, you’ll need to fill in the following information:

  • First and last name (in Latin letters)

  • Date of birth

  • Gender

  • Country where you’re currently located

  • Valid ID number (required if the doctor needs to issue a prescription or document)

This information is saved to your profile and only needs to be entered once. You can update it at any time.

Step 2: Describe your request and upload documents (optional)

Describe the reason for your consultation in detail. This helps the doctor prepare more effectively for your appointment. You can also attach relevant documents:

  • Lab results

  • Medical notes or diagnoses

  • Photos (rash, throat, etc.)

Choose a time slot from the available options. Express Consultations are often available the same day, depending on doctor availability.

Step 3: Payment and confirmation

Payment is made online — by bank card directly to the doctor via the secure Stripe payment system. The amount is charged at the time of booking.

After successful payment, you’ll receive:

  • A confirmation email

  • Appointment details in your Oladoctor account

How to join the Express consultation

Consultations are conducted via secure video directly in your browser — no apps required.

You’ll receive a video link by email 15 minutes before your appointment.

The same link will be available in your Oladoctor account immediately after payment:

  • Go to My Account → My Orders

  • Click on the upcoming appointment

  • Click Go to Consultation to join the call

What to expect during the Express consultation

During an Express Consultation, you’ll speak with a certified general practitioner via secure video call. The consultation is focused on your current concern and typically lasts 15 minutes.

Here’s what happens during the session:

  • The doctor will review the reason for your visit.

  • They may ask clarifying questions about your symptoms or medical history.

  • Based on your responses, the doctor will provide guidance, medical advice, or initial treatment recommendations.

  • If a prescription, referral, or other document is appropriate, the doctor will explain the next steps.

After the Express consultation

If the doctor issues any documents (such as a prescription or referral), you will receive them in two places:

  • By email — sent shortly after the consultation.

  • In your Oladoctor accountMy Orders, find the relevant consultation, and use the Download button to access your documents.

These may include medical notes, treatment plans, or referral instructions, depending on your situation.
