What is an Express Prescription?

An Express Prescription is an asynchronous medical service that lets you request treatment or a prescription renewal without a video consultation.

You select a condition, fill out a dedicated medical form, and a licensed doctor will review your request. If appropriate, the doctor will provide treatment, which may include a prescription, referral for tests, or professional recommendations.

How can I request an Express Prescription?

To use the Express Prescriptions service:

  1. Log in to your Oladoctor account

  2. Select Express Prescriptions in the menu

  3. Choose a condition from the available list

  4. Fill out the medical questionnaire for that condition

  5. Pay online (€19 flat fee)

  6. Wait for the doctor’s decision

The result will be available in your My Orders section and sent by email. If the doctor needs clarification, they may contact you through your Oladoctor account.

Which conditions are supported by Express Prescriptions?

You can request an Express Prescription for the conditions below.

To start, log in to your Oladoctor account, go to the Express Prescriptions section, and choose the relevant condition from the list. Each condition has its own dedicated medical form with questions tailored to your symptoms.

  • No video consultation is required

  • Availability may vary based on your country.

Can I request treatment for a sinus infection?

Yes. If you have symptoms such as nasal congestion, facial pressure, or sinus pain, you can request treatment through the sinus infection option.

  • Fill out the sinus-specific medical form with your symptoms, duration, and medical history

  • A licensed doctor will review your form and provide appropriate care, which may include a prescription, lab referral, or treatment recommendations

Can I request treatment for a urinary tract infection (UTI)?

Yes. If you are experiencing burning urination, frequent urges, or discomfort, you can submit a request for UTI treatment.

  • Select UTI Treatment from the list

  • Fill out the UTI-specific form in detail

  • A licensed doctor will review your form and provide appropriate care, which may include a prescription, lab referral, or treatment recommendations

Can I get help with STI-related symptoms?

Yes. You can request evaluation and treatment if you are experiencing symptoms that may suggest a sexually transmitted infection.

  • Complete the form thoroughly, including any past testing or diagnoses

  • A licensed doctor will review your form and provide appropriate care, which may include a prescription, lab referral, or treatment recommendations

Can I request treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED)?

Yes. If you are experiencing symptoms of erectile dysfunction, you can submit a confidential request — no video call required.

  • A licensed doctor will review your form and provide appropriate care, which may include a prescription, lab referral, or treatment recommendations

Can I request treatment for ear pain?

Yes. If you have mild or moderate ear pain without severe symptoms, you can request care through Express Prescriptions.

  • Complete the form with symptom details and upload a photo if needed

  • A licensed doctor will review your form and provide appropriate care, which may include a prescription, lab referral, or treatment recommendations

Can I get treatment for mild allergic reactions?

Yes. You can request help for symptoms like rash, nasal congestion, or hives — as long as they are not signs of an emergency (e.g., anaphylaxis).

  • A licensed doctor will review your form and provide appropriate care, which may include a prescription, lab referral, or treatment recommendations

Can I renew or adjust my asthma medication?

Yes. If you are undergoing regular asthma treatment and need to renew or adjust it, you can submit a request.

  • Provide your current treatment and previous prescriptions in the form

  • A licensed doctor will review your form and provide appropriate care, which may include a prescription, lab referral, or treatment recommendations

  • This service is not for emergency asthma symptoms

Can I request relief for dental pain?

Yes. If you have moderate tooth pain or gum inflammation, you can request initial relief through this service.

  • Describe your symptoms and previous dental care in the form

  • A licensed doctor will review your form and provide appropriate care, which may include a prescription, lab referral, or treatment recommendations

  • This is not a replacement for in-person dental care

Can I request treatment for hemorrhoids?

Yes. If you’re experiencing symptoms such as itching, swelling, or discomfort, you can request care through this form.

  • A licensed doctor will review your form and provide appropriate care, which may include a prescription, lab referral, or treatment recommendations

Can I request help for urinary incontinence?

Yes. You can submit a request if you are experiencing involuntary urination or symptoms of bladder control issues.

  • Describe frequency, triggers, and relevant history in the form

  • A licensed doctor will review your form and provide appropriate care, which may include a prescription, lab referral, or treatment recommendations

Can I get treatment for conjunctivitis (pink eye)?

Yes. If you have symptoms like red, itchy, or watery eyes, you can use this service to request treatment for conjunctivitis.

  • Upload a clear photo of the affected eye(s) and complete the form

  • A licensed doctor will review your form and provide appropriate care, which may include a prescription, lab referral, or treatment recommendations

Can I request a prescription renewal?

Yes. You can request a prescription renewal through the Express Prescriptions section if you already have one of the following:

  • A previous prescription (from any country), or

  • A written medical recommendation that includes a diagnosis or international medication name

To do this:

  • Log in to your Oladoctor account

  • Go to Express Prescriptions

  • Select Prescription Renewal from the list

  • Upload the required documentation and complete the form

  • Pay €19 and wait for the doctor’s review (usually within 1-24 hours)

If you do not have a previous prescription or medical recommendation, please book an Express Consultation instead.

What medications are excluded from renewals?

Doctors on Oladoctor do not renew prescriptions for the following medications:

  • Narcotic pain medications (e.g., morphine, oxycodone)

  • Opioid substitution therapy (e.g., methadone, buprenorphine)

  • Psychotropic substances (e.g., amphetamines, benzodiazepines)

  • Medications that require specialist supervision (e.g., immunosuppressants, oncology or psychiatric drugs)

When should I not use the Express Prescriptions service?

Do not use this service in medical emergencies. This includes:

  • Severe chest pain

  • Difficulty breathing

  • High fever (above 39.5 °C)

  • Persistent vomiting or diarrhea

  • Loss of consciousness

In these situations, call 112 or go to the nearest emergency facility.

Who reviews Express Prescription requests?

All Express Prescription requests are reviewed by licensed doctors working independently through Oladoctor’s marketplace.

Doctors make all clinical decisions based on:

  • The information you provide in the form

  • Medical best practices and your local regulations

A prescription, referral, or recommendation is only issued if the doctor determines that it is medically appropriate.
