How to select or change your time zone

Learn when and how to set or change your time zone to make sure your consultations, reminders, and appointment times are correct.

Updated over a month ago

Why setting the correct time zone matters

Your time zone ensures that:

  • Available consultation times are shown in your local time

  • Appointment reminders arrive at the right moment

  • You don’t miss your consultation or join at the wrong time

Using the wrong time zone may cause issues such as:

  • Joining your consultation too early or too late

  • Missing confirmation or reminder emails

  • Not receiving a link at the expected time

Always check your time zone, especially if you’re:

  • Traveling across time zones

  • Living abroad

  • Using a VPN or remote IP location

When and where to check your time zone

When you log in

Each time you log into your Oladoctor account, you’ll see a pop-up that shows your current detected time zone. This helps confirm that your consultation schedule and notifications are accurate.

  • If the time zone is correct, simply click Confirm

  • If the time zone is incorrect, select the correct option from the dropdown and confirm

In your patient account

Your current time zone is also visible in the My Account section, next to your Patient Code.

This is where you can quickly check if the time zone you confirmed earlier is still active.

How to change your time zone

There are two ways to update your time zone:

1. During login

When you log into your Oladoctor account, the system will detect your time zone and prompt you to confirm or change it.

2. By logging out and logging back in

If you want to reset your time zone manually, log out of your account and sign in again. This will trigger the time zone pop-up and allow you to choose the correct one.

Currently, you cannot edit the time zone manually from inside the “My Account” section — it must be confirmed at login.

What happens if the wrong time zone is set?

If your time zone is incorrect, you might:

  • See the wrong time when booking a consultation

  • Miss the start of your consultation

  • Fail to receive notifications at the expected time

To fix this, simply log out and log in again to select the correct time zone.

Make sure your time zone is always correct to avoid issues with consultation timing, reminders, and access links. You can verify or update it each time you log in, or trigger a reset by logging out and logging back in.
